Today is Canada Day and it is the day we, the Canadians, celebrate the birth of our country.
Just like in the US, we have a day where a 'Confederation' was signed on July 1, 1867. At that time there were only 4 provinces that were part of Canada "New Brunswick", "Nova Scotica", "Quebec" and "Ontario".
Just like Washington DC, Maryland, being the USA capital, we have Ottawa, Ontario as our Country's capital.
This is the day where many places have games, coloring contests, face painting, serve cake. Even some tourist attractions get involved by having the dunk tank and mascats and many other different things.
